Custom-made Orthotics are extremely helpful for a variety of problems with everything from feet to lower back. If your feet are even slightly flat (pronated) or you have high arches (supinated), these orthotics can help. The interesting fact is, many of the patients who have benefited, were not aware they had anything wrong with their feet. A simple, painless test can be done standing, but the best test is to have a computerized scan of your feet to see exactly how your weight is distributed. Ideally we carry half of our weight over our big toe and ball of the foot and half of our weight over our heel. Many patients are found to have far too much weight over the middle of their foot and this throws off the alignment of the foot, ankle, knee, hip, and even the lower back leading to problems in any of these areas.

Most extended health or group benefits cover most or all of the cost of orthotics. Check out your plan today. You may also need a prescription from your Medical Doctor for the insurance company to pay for the orthotics. They are normally around $400 per pair. Just call our office to set up a special appointment to have your feet assessed and scanned. For current patients their is no extra charge to have your feet scanned.  For those who are new to our office we simply need to do an initial consultation and examination to determine your condition and how we can help you.

We only recommend orthotics from Foot Levelers since they have been making them for years, for thousands of Chiropractors with great success. If you want to try non-custom-made orthotics, they can be purchased for between $20 and $70.  They may help a little or you might try wearing better shoes that have a good arch built into them. When you go from a deck shoe or flip flop to a sturdy walking shoe, this can often help prevent problems
