Favourite Morning Stretch Routine

From the moment you get up in the morning, you may find it helpful to do some limbering up to feel better and have more energy. Before doing too many full range stretches, we recommend a little warming up. This could be a short walk around your house, up and down the stairs, or around your yard.

Stand up straight with your feet twice as wide as your shoulders. Raise your arms up at the sides so they are straight across. Then rotate slowly as far as you can to the left, then right; then from the starting position, tip over to the left slowly as far as you can, then right; then place your hands on your hips and bend backwards as far as you can. Stand straight and lift your knee up in front of you as far as you can, then do the other knee. Now try to kick your own butt by lifting your heel a few times. Then bend forward slowly and reach to your knees. Stand straight and lean one ear tipping to shoulder, then the other, and straighten up and turn nose to one side, then the other, and pull your chin straight back.

Lie down and pull knees to chest, roll onto front, and do a sloppy push-up. Go onto your hands and knees and lift tummy and chest up like a camel, then drop them with your elbows straight like a cat. Hold for a few seconds and repeat 3 or 4 times. Click to see Cat / Camel here – https://youtu.be/JJkjIKlimW8

After these stretches you are ready to start your day. Some people like to do some cardio exercises right away like a walk, run, or bike. Others will exercise later. Either way you are ready for your day. Try this morning exercise routine for now. Keep doing the ones you like, change out some you don’t like for something that feels better. Try to develop the daily exercise routine. It’s not so much how long you exercise but the idea that you do some every day.

A day without exercise is like a day without sunshine or a day without eating! Commit to two weeks of a daily routine. By then, you will feel the difference and know whether you want to continue or not. If not, then please keep looking for something that makes you feel good.
